Echo
Echo has been a long term leader of our herd and is now 20 years old. She has very strong bond to Lucy and their partnership as being going on for 16 years. Echo had a difficult past before she met Lucy and has made remarkable progress on her own journey. She was once a fearful unpredictable pony but is now one of the most reliable on the yard teaching young children and nervous adults.
Hero
Hero was originally brought from a market at the age of 4 and lived with Lucy for a further four years before he went off to have a successful career show jumping. At the age of 16 he came back to Lucy and has been enjoying a quieter life ever since. He is a true gentleman with a kind heart. He is very fond of Echo and carrots!
Pixie
Pixie is a frequent visitor to the ranch as she loves the outdoor life. She is very playful for a 14 year old dog and simply adores children. She has energy to burn!
Secret
Secret is really an angel put on this earth as a pony, we are sure of it! She has an absolute heart of gold. Secret will look after the most nervous of people and yet in the right hands is capable of everything. Secret is 15 years old and has been in the family since she was 2. In 2021 she had a foal, Promise, who is also at No Reins.
Tiny Cowboy
Cowboy is turning 6 this year. He came to us in May 2023 from a home up the road in Lincolnshire. He can be slightly shy and unsure with people, but this is improving. We are allowing his confidence to grow slowly. Cowboy is super inquisitive and enthusiastic once he gains his confidence and will give everything a try. He is extremely playful in the field and will be often be seen charging around for fun.
Tiny Stetson
came all the way from a home in Wales in August 2023. He is turning 7 this year. Stetson is a pretty laid back yet determined character. He is confident about most things and with a bit of encouragement there is nothing he won’t try for you. Stetson is a very calm and kind pony. He is the perfect big brother and playmate, he brings all the fun for Cowboy to play with but also helps him to gain confidence.
Lucy
Lucy is the owner and founder of No Reins. Having been around horses from a young age she was always fascinated about building relationships with them and this led to a lifelong learning journey of natural horsemanship. Lucy has owned horses since she was 16 and went to Warwickshire College after school to study them further. Lucy then worked on livery yards, in riding schools and on an eventing yard before taking the leap to go to university to study Behavioural Science. After leaving university Lucy has worked extensively with young people. She has had various roles within the social services and worked as a residential social worker in a private children’s care home. She has worked supporting families in need within the education sector and has herself also fostered. Lucy has helped run two Equine Assisted Therapy centres working with a range of people including young offenders and even corporate team building work. She has knowledge and experience of many types of problems people face. She has worked with a range of mental health disorders such as self harm, eating disorders, depression and anxiety.
