Are you Covid safe?
As all the sessions are held outdoors so we keep to social distance guidelines. The staff will wear masks/visors throughout the session unless it is deemed counterproductive to the therapy. There are two antibacterial hand soap stations at the ranch to use before and after your session.
How many sessions will I need?
This can vary from person to person and on the nature of the issue. However, as a general rule a block of 6 sessions will often be long enough to see results and achieve goals set.
Do I need to have had any previous horse experience?
No. Even somebody who is anxious about being near a horse can gain so much from this type of therapy. Observing the herd can be just as useful as being hands on with the horses. Our horses are all trained and we find most people are able to get nearer than they thought even on their first session.
Where are you located?
Nettleham, just outside of Lincoln town.
What shall I wear?
Sturdy footwear and adequate clothing for the season. We are all outdoors so bring more layers as this is Great Britain!
Do you have a toilet?
Yes we have a toilet and hand washing facilities.
Do I need to do anything before I come?
There will have been a pack sent out to you to read through and on your first session there are two forms to sign prior to the session starting.
Do I need to bring anything?
We have tea, coffee and bottled water available but please bring any other drinks you may require.
Can I smoke while I’m there?
No Red Poppy Ranch is a smoke-free area, this is for the safety of our animals.
