Here at No Reins we believe the emotional wellbeing of young people is as important as their physical health. Good mental health allows children and young people to develop the resilience to cope with whatever life throws at them and grow into well-rounded, healthy adults.

Equine assisted therapy offers young people a therapeutic environment that can feel less threatening and more inviting to allow them to open up and process painful emotions and experiences. Working with horses can help young people develop assertiveness, confidence, communication skills, emotional awareness, empathy, problem-solving skills and social skills. They can gain trust in themselves, a higher self-esteem and learn to develop and maintain relationships.

Lucy has vast experience working with young people. She has worked several jobs within the social services and been a residential social worker in the private care sector.
